GameServer switches to BAS

After a head-to-head-race between the famous mods Inv44 and BAS the Ballistic Addons Studios mod was able to latter the favour of the voters in our last poll. BAS is for sure known to everybody in the community: with their impressive addons wich are played even today, three years after their release, they have also thrown the switch for future projects of other mods. So we from the GameServer-Team (Deadeye, [CAS] Daniel, pMASTER and x-ray) have sat down and prepared the switch to BAS. Vigorously we were supported by our colleagues from the OFP-Center, in particular we would like to thank, above all, Berliner 19 for his help.

Up to sixty missions stand ready for a lot of action, chiefly coop missions. Of course we can add other missions, so if somebody knows a mission which shouldn´t be missing on the server or if someone would like to see his own BAS mission played, simply ask us.

Missions can be still reworked by us, but basically they should fit to the following pattern:

  • fully functionial briefing
  • texts in English
  • beside the standard addons only such of BAS

In case of problems with the online-gaming on our server you can find help if you take a look to the FAQs. You can find a link to the bundle with the required addons here.

In addition our thanks goes to Danny from Eclipse Servers and his team for their great support!

UPDATE

  • Delays or shut downs can occur because of technical problems wich were detected recently. We are working on it to solve this problem, but at the moment the server is offline. We want to apologize for any inconvenience wich might happen.

UPDATE #2 (by Cervo)

  • The missions not working properly have been removed, we will test them further to see what’s wrong with them, the server is back online.

UPDATE #3 (by Cervo)

  • Missions have been fixed and uploaded, the problems were caused by some missing addons in the mission.sqm addon class part. There are currently 91 BAS missions on the game server.
